Tuna Fish Cutlets

Here we are sharing a recipe for making Tuna Fish cutlets using Canned Tuna Fish.

Normally, as we know cutlets are deep fried in oil, but not in this case, in this recipe, I pan fried the cutlets and it turned out nice and tasty.

Cutlets fried like this are far healthier when compared to deep fried ones.

My child’s loved these Pan Fried Tuna Cutlets.

Ingredients of  Tuna Fish Cutlets

Cooking Method

  1. Boil the potato along with salt until well cooked.
  2. Remove the skin and mash it very finely without any chunks.
  3. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan and fry onions until transparent.
  4. Add green chilies, ginger, garlic and curry leaves and fry for a few more minutes.
  5. Add red chili powder, turmeric powder, fish masala powder, pepper powder and garam masala powder.
  6. Cook for 2 minutes.
  7. Exhaust the water or oil from the tuna and add it to the pan along with little salt.
  8. Mix everything well and cook the tuna for 10 minutes.
  9. Make sure to cook until it becomes dry.
  10. Allow it to cool.
  11. Then add the mashed potatoes and egg. Mix everything nicely.
  12. Add bread crumbs to the mixture and mix it to form soft dough which will hold shape.
  13. Make lemon sized balls using your palm and flatten the balls to form cutlets of any shape you like.
  14. Heat a non stick frying pan and add 1 tbsp oil.
  15. Place the cutlets in the pan and fry each side on medium heat for 4-5 minutes.
  16. Serve these hot cutlets with ketchup or Green Chatni.
